Elvis. Elvis is a regal and loving guy. He is a Basset Hound.
He is crazy about playdates and is known for removing cheese from a sandwich.
Elvis is a trusting ally to humans (even though he sometimes howls in agony whenever he hears fireworks).
But then it happened; Elvis's human had to move unexpectedly overseas, and could not bring pets. Elvis was dropped off at the shelter, and that is the last time they ever saw each other again.
Elvis hopes for just one thing: a fresh start in a new home. Your home! Elvis is a super low energy dog. Elvis's laid-back, easy-going attitude makes him the perfect adoptable friend for low energy families. Some describe Elvis as a very sloppy eater and he is recommended for a home where he'll have a human who likes to give lots of affection.
He had some accidents when he first arrived at the Shelter Pups, but has been trained during the stay.
Things You Should Know Before Adopting Elvis
Elvis is a super low energy Basset Hound. Be prepared for some serious laziness. Also, each dog breed has certain traits. Knowing a little bit about your pup's individual personality and breed personality will give you some clues about how to care for your pup.
There's a bunch of Basset Hound in this Shelter Pup!
Friendliness: A Basset Hound will fit nicely into your life with it's sweet, gentle, devoted, peaceful and naturally well-behaved personality. Their amazing nose allows them to follow almost any trail. Don't be surprised if they would rather track a new smell then play fetch.
Grooming: The Basset Hound's short sleek coat is very easy to maintain and only requires an occasional grooming. Their extra long ears are prone to infection and must be cleaned on a regular basis.
Exercise: Basset Hounds love to run and play. They may look slow and clumsy but Basset Hounds require long daily walks to stay in top shape. Because of their short legs and long backs it is important to prevent them from straining their legs or jumping to much.
Sorry, but Elvis was already adopted by an International Rescue Hero!
