Fellow humans, meet Opie. Opie is a gracious, happy Chihuahua.
He is crazy about rakes. He is also well known for gurgling instead of barking.
Although sometimes he must be carried over mud puddles, he is as loyal an ally as any canine could possibly be.
But something unexpected happened; Opie's beloved human grew too old to take proper care of him anymore. His human had no other choice than to put Opie up for adoption.
Opie hopes for just one thing: a fresh start in a new home. Your home! Opie is a high energy dog. Opie's hyper attentive personality makes him the ultimate family pup for high-energy humans. Opie is a little excited around cats and he'll be best in a home where he can get regular walks or runs and plenty of training sessions.
He is 100% house broken.
Things You Should Know Before Adopting Opie
Opie is a high energy Chihuahua. Be ready to give this pup lots of attention. Also, each dog breed has certain traits. Knowing a little bit about your dog's individual personality and breed personality will give you some clues about how to care for your dog.
There's a bunch of Chihuahua in this Shelter Pup!
Friendliness: Chihuahuas may look small and timid but these pups have confidence and attitude. They are proud, graceful, and dainty. The Chihuahua's favorite activity is being held by their favorite human. This pup may even do tricks to get your attention! Make sure you save plenty of time for your Chihuahua and never leave him alone for long periods of time.
Grooming: Chihuahuas can have long or short hair. Short haired Chihuahuas are low maintenance and only require an occasional grooming. Unlike many other long-haired breeds, long-haired Chihuahuas require no trimming and minimal grooming.
Health: Chihuahua are very healthy but also very tiny. Because they are so small it is important to help them stay safe -no jumping from high places or rough play with large dogs. Chihuahuas are also very sensitive to cold weather and should always be kept indoors.
Exercise: Chihuahuas may spend many lazy hours just laying around but they are still considered active dogs and require exercise. Because of their small size, simply running around your house gives them plenty of exercise!
Sorry, but Opie was already adopted by an International Rescue Hero!
